I think it is obvious from the second class that I am not sure about AI. I think that there are a lot of unethical practices that need to be dealt with that are absolutely not being dealt with, but I do agree that this technology is not going to go away (as much as I wish most website would stop using it.) With that being said, trying to figure out some kind of theme for this project has been especially difficult. I went back and forth on utilizing generated family photos or something that dealt with dungeons and dragons just because I knew that that was something I would enjoy.

However, I was recently looking through my regular portfolio and realized that I had been using a lot of birds to symbolize my family. All of my immediate family has a bird that we are associated with and I have been using the silhouettes as a way to avoid my traditional method of printing photographs. It's my way to feel closer to my family even though we are over a thousand miles away from each other. After the lose of my aunt at the beginning of the semester and some news that there will be new people in my family at the same time, I want to keep going with my birds as a way to reconnect in a happier way.

Before my aunt's funeral, I had not seen my brother in almost three years. There were some intense fights that led to that, but also the fact that the two of us are just horrible at reaching out to one another to apologize or even to say hello. Since we got back from that funeral, we have spoken several times. I want to recreate that feeling of closeness that we had when we were kids through the use of the birds that we always were associated with.
