I have a few ideas for this project, but most of them I do not think will work with mad mapper. Originally when I was brainstorming, before learning about the program we were using, I had ideas of using Cherokee stories like the Origin of the Strawberry or even The Playing Boys/The Origin of the Pleiades and the Pines, but I was not sure what I wanted to do for a set piece once we introduced the program.
As a printmaker I function in two ways, flat two dimensional surfaces where I am printing something like a beadwork pattern or I am weaving paper together and hang on the wall, or I am making more three dimensional pieces still out of paper and utilizing my printmaking techniques, but making them a bit more fragile and harder to figure out hanging systems. Once we got into the program, I thought about figuring out how to hang one of my printed shawls and projecting onto the fringe because I have been wanting to experiment with printing on fringe and seeing what that does, but since we are going to have a show outside of the school, it does not seem like something that would be entirely possible. The last time I showed one of my shawls, I had it on a mannequin that I borrowed and no longer have access too, but I was not happy that you could tell there was some time of figure underneath it. I like when they look filled out by a ghostly figure, as though they are floating through the air, but with nothing actually underneath and I just can not figure that out.
What I do have access too are all of my two dimensional prints though and I can definitely project something onto them and make a fairly cool piece will still projecting onto fringe to see what will happen.
